Woof like to meet ….
So, you’ve got a new doggy friend in your home! Whether it’s a tiny puppy or maybe an older rescue dog, it’s important to socialise your new dog with other dogs and people too.
Just like humans, dogs are not born with the social skills they’ll need to fit in to family life. And, of course, rescue dogs can also bring their own unique set of challenges with them to a new home. So, it’s important to ensure that your dog has as many early positive experiences as possible in order to learn how to behave when they meet other dogs in the park or so they can accompany you on exciting outings to the beach or visiting family and friends.
Puppies need to know what is and isn’t acceptable in your home or out on a walk, so training should start early with lots of positive reinforcement and rewards. Puppy Classes are great for new dog owners and even older rescue dogs can benefit from joining regular training classes offering an opportunity to meet other dogs and to learn how to prevent or correct unwanted behaviours.
That’s the spot …. right there!
Just like us, dogs can sometimes “have a bad day”. Did you know too, that just like us, they love a soothing massage. It’s a great way to de-stress your dog and release any tensions in their muscles and joints. You don’t have to be an expert to treat your dog to a gentle massage. Use gentle pressure and long, soothing strokes to help to warm up the tissues and encourage blood flow, leading to relaxation. If you have any concerns about your dog’s health be sure to consult your Vet or look to Buddy & Lola’s range of vet approved supplements and advanced nutrition products designed to make life better for dogs.
